CCF Electronic Commerce Policy  

The Cataraqui Conservation Foundation (CCF) recognizes that the growth of electronic online services, including fundraising and membership management services, has created additional privacy concerns. The Board of the CCF refers to the Canadian Code of Practice for Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.

Online privacy concerns focus on the protection of "person identifiable" information, which an individual reasonably expects to be kept private. As the term suggests, "person identifiable" information is information which can be associated with a specific individual or entity, including, for example, a person's name, address or telephone number, e-mail address, and information about online activities that are directly linked to them. The CCF uses to facilitate donations. This policy describes the CCF privacy policy for electronic commerce.  This policy complements the CCF Privacy Policy and CCF Complaints Policy.

Information Collection:  If you browse the CCF website (, you do so anonymously. We do not collect personal information. Wild Apricot does log your IP address (the Internet address of your computer) but your IP address is not linked to anything personally identifiable. If you make a donation, or make any other financial transaction electronically, credit card information is not retained
Like many other websites, Wild Apricot and Canada Helps use a standard technology called a "cookie." On these confidential information websites, you must accept cookies because they are essential for site security, which is their only purpose. We do not collect any persistent cookies.

Disclosure:  The CCF adheres to all Provincial and Federal statutes and regulations that prohibit personal information disclosure. The CCF will not sell, trade, or otherwise disclose any personal identifiable information in any manner.

The CCF takes appropriate steps to communicate all privacy policies to its Board members and supporters.

Security:  The CCF, Canada Helps, and Wild Apricot are fully committed to data security. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of information, generally accepted industry practices are used to protect the personal information submitted. .
